I’m a labor & employment lawyer living in suburban Chicago. I’ve been a vegetarian since 1997, vegan at home since 2007 and in August of 2010 I decided go vegan full-time. I loved ice cream, pizza, and cute shoes, but I have learned to love their vegan alternatives.
This blog will focus on vegan food & fashion and my life in the ‘burbs. Living in the Midwest suburbs makes it really hard to be vegetarian, much less vegan. However, there are a few gems that make life out here manageable and the city is just a train ride away.

I just “stumbled upon” your post about our Valentine’s Day Dinner last season and had to write to say thank you! I’m not sure if this blog is still active, but I have recently moved back to Crystal Lake from DeKalb and I was wondering if you were aware of any veg*tarian groups in McHenry County.
I don’t know of any in McHenry County, but the Suburban Chicago Vegetarian meetup group is a great group of people. They had a lot of stuff in Mundelein and Palatine when I lived there.
